Art saves me.

Art, mostly in the form of collage and poetry, has been a healing force throughout my life. Making a collage is a meditative and therapeutic process. Poetry, like an old friend, often shows up for me when I'm having a difficult time.

I believe we all have the power to create, bring joy into our lives, and heal our emotional and spiritual pain with art-making. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to create regardless of age, perceived abilities, or formal training. What we create may be important, but it is the process of creating and how we feel in the moment when we truly let go that is most significant.

The soul of art is not concerned with perfection.

I wish for my art to celebrate joyful living and the power of simple and beautiful things, along with messages of survival and living a peaceful life. I use accessible materials that are available to most of us, including paper, old books and magazines, acrylic paint, pen, and watercolors. As a vegan, I only use synthetic brushes and materials that are free of animal ingredients.
